If you want to determine if there are any registered sex offenders in your neighborhood, all you have to do is look it up on line. The internet publication of sex offenders has been on the books for some time…

New Jersey lawmakers have now gone one step further. They’ve passed a law that prohibits certain convicted sex offenders from accessing or using the internet.

These felons may even be subjected to unannounced inspections of their home computers… sort of like mandatory drug testing.

This law was signed with much fanfare. But there are problems… For example, how is the government going to monitor a sexual deviant who visits a library or uses a friend’s computer to access the internet? Though passed with the best of intentions, this is going to be a very tough law to enforce.
