If you own a vehicle you are breaking the law if you don't have the proper insurance to cover it. In fact, the consequences for failure to properly insure your vehicle will result in the loss of your driver's license for a year, along with fines of up to $1,000 and a period of community service. And, that's just for a first offense. It is mandatory that you drive with the proper insurance in place.
